Activating Donor-Advised Funds for Nonprofits

A weekly, live cohort for nonprofit leaders to master this philanthropic vehicle and how to incorporate DAF fundraising into your overall strategy.

You know the numbers: $326 billion sitting in DAFs, nearly $65 billion granted out in 2024, and most nonprofits aren't even showing up in this ecosystem.

This cohort is an 8-week live opportunity, with other nonprofit leaders, where you'll build the systems, messaging, and relationships that actually turn DAF donors into committed funders.

First cohort opportunity begins September 8 at 2pm EST/11am PST.

What You'll Build

Week 1: DAF Foundations

Understand how DAFs actually work, who the sponsors are, and the compliance rules you can't break. Complete your tier assessment and identify your top three gaps.

Week 2: Your Digital Front Door

Audit your website, donation page, and digital presence through the eyes of a DAF donor and their advisor. Fix the red flags that kill grants before they ever happen.

Week 3: Messaging That Doesn't Sound Generic

Write the core messages that speak to DAF donors and their advisors. Move from generic "we do great work" to specific, unforgettable positioning that gets attention.

Week 4: Give Smarter, Give More

Learn how appreciated assets and legacy giving work through a DAF, and build the rollout plan that gets this conversation started with your donors.

Week 5: Make DAF Giving Seamless

Map your gift flow and remove every barrier between a donor's intention and a completed DAF grant, on your website, in your appeals, and at your events.

Week 6: Build Reliable Tracking & Stewardship

Fix your CRM habits so DAF grants get linked to real people, not sponsor names. Build the 48-hour acknowledgment protocol that turns a single grant into years of giving.

Week 7: Building Lasting Relationships

Identify the DAF donors already in your file, move them toward recurring giving, deepen engagement beyond the ask, and build the advisor and community foundation relationships that bring new donors to you.

Week 8: Your 12-Month Roadmap + Graduation

Build your advisor one-pager and your quarter-by-quarter roadmap, the two deliverables that keep your DAF strategy alive after the cohort ends. Celebrate!
